the tale of the sale and the head trauma

I would normally keep this kind of thing to myself, just because it's personal, but it impacted a transaction and a TB'er and I feel obligated to let everyone know what happened.

You may or may not have noticed my absence for a couple of months recently. In late September I sold a Jackson bass to Shark1, a TB'er in Europe, I live in the US. He sent the funds promptly and before I had a chance to pack and ship I was involved in an accident, that, while not particularly severe, precipitated events that led to my being diagnosed with a mild stroke. I say mild only because that's what the diagnosis said, but I'm here to tell you it had a very grave effect on my life and ability to be independent. I was incapacited for several weeks, and had trouble with speech, balance, and playing bass was not possible. All in all a very humbling experience, and quite troubling to my extended family. Needless to say it was very embarrassing and hurtful to me to not be able to complete the sale transaction with shark1, who was extremely patient and understanding through the whole ordeal. If you ever have the opportunity to work/deal with him, you won't regret it, he is aces. My heartfelt thanks to him for not burning me down on the boards when he had every right to.

When I had rcovered enought to work some, I was able to ship the bass to him and after 77 days (a record maybe?) he received the bass and I can't tell you how happy I am he received it.

Anyway, gents and ladies, I am here to tell you, savor everyday you have your independence to walk, talk and be able to take care of yourself. I can't tell you how glad I am to get it back.

Thanks for listening.

Hi.

Glad to hear that You're recovering quickly.

Health is something we all unfortunately take for granted.

I think the stroke affected your memory as well. You never sent me that amp and cab I paid for right before the accident. I've been waiting patiently too.

But seriously....glad to hear you are back with us and improving. I like your avatar, so I'm happy to see it around again. Your screen name rocks too.

Thanks to all of you. I admit I missed TB while I was out. Nice to read more bizarre things in the world of bass again.
