Tales from the line at the Apple Store

Sign in to disble this ad
Standing in line at the Apple store amongst nerds, geeks, and tech junkies. Been here for a half hour and I've begun to realize it's a darn good thing I took the entire day off. I'm probably about 2-3 hours away from my new phone... Which is good because this battery will be dead by then.

I'll post updates throughout the morning... Hey I have nothing better to do.

Just ran into the guitarist of a band that I auditioned for and turned down. He's a few people behind me in line.

Two people just won iPhone 4s on Regis this morning. I'm so jealous, I wish I could get free cool electronics...

So you took a day off work to stand in line for a phone?

And run other errands, yes. I'm typing from the car dealer right now.

The experience took me five hours. I can say I've done it, made some good friends, but won't do it again!

Doubtful.

I stood in line for 5 hours, and the line was even longer when I left.

It's doubtul that you could get one as a walk-in right now but I'm sure that somewhere on the planet all the factors have collaborated to make it possible. If you order one from the Apple online store as of last week they were estimating a July 13th ship date.

Cool bro. I'm glad you got yours and good on you for grabbing one of the first. I would have done the same if the phone worked on VZW.

We used to camp out overnight back in the day to buy concert tickets to the big shows. Always a fun time.

Right, but with that came the expectation of the concert, and memories to be made...versus

"Oh cool, now I can make phone calls and surf the web, just like my old phone"

Doubt it. You have to get appointments just to be seen in those stores. Talk about snooty as hell

Does it come with a "First day of issue" cancellation, or is that just for postage stamps?

I had a rgeat experience in the Apple Store last weekend when I bought my iPad. They were nice and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need or anything.

LOL at you standing in line for hours just to get a phone. Shouldn't you be at work or something
