I follow/am subscribed to several threads that I've never "participated" in, and those don't show up as/when updated on this new app. Do I need to go into each of those and type in the stupid "sub'd" thing just to make this happen?
A lot of glitches to be worked out on this android tapatalk version. Such as, it keeps taking me back to a post from earlier in the day, that I've read 2 - 3 times already, then I have to scroll down the page to find the new one. Also, had to pull my batt 2x's today as my phone froze up while viewing a pic. The "dark mode" setting sucks as it goes to white every time you scroll down the page, then sometimes, not always, returns to dark mode. IMO, it's all a huge PITA. Fix it fast or bring back the old version. I used the old app all the time, now I don't think I'm gonna do so nearly as much. At least not 'till it's brought on par with the old android app.

To get you subscribed threads to show up, you need to press "participated" on the upper right hand corner and it will stay as a preference. There is also the option to show "all" threads, or "unread" threads. My guess is the answer to your question is in one of those options.
As for what gets read first, I experienced the same thing as you but i think that had to do with information from the old app and new possibly conflicting. If not check the loading behavior under settings in the "more section on the top of the screen.
Me thinks we all just have to get used to the new app. Most people seem to like it better than the old, I, like you just may have grown very comfortable with the other one. Was sad to see it go. :/ |

I like this new app! Much faster and I haven't had any ridiculous waiting times yet. And the layout looks better IMO. having some stuff moved around or named differently took some getting used to, though.

And the search sucks equally

Also, I either get taken back to posts I've already read, or dropped off in the middle of a thread I haven't been in before, even though my settings say to go to the first unread post. There are also threads in my participated list that I've never participated in...

Like the old app. | That's what I thought you could do in settings by choosing 'latest post'. Seems that just drops you in on the last page when you choose a thread. The list of threads still shows the OP, and the post-counter box is grey if there has been any added posts...not impressed at the mo, but I'm sure it's a work in progress |

Does this do that? I have a hard time see what has been replied to and what hasn't.

Stinks.
