TalkBass High School class of 2010, where are you going to college?

Hey all, it's about that time where high school seniors are hearing back from colleges. Where is everyone going? What are you going to study? Did you get into your top choice?

I'm going to Suffolk University for Communications. My first choice was Emerson College, but I got rejected.

That's cool! I looked into that place around freshman year when I thought I was good at bass. Then I woke up.

My Ex went to Emerson. She's crazy. You don't want to go to school that allows women like that to attend.

I'm in my 7th year of post-high school education. If I could turn back the clock, I'd have gone into a trade

I think I'm probably going to go to UMass Amherst, simply because the engineering is amazing and it's less than half the price of any other school I got into, even taking scholarships into consideration. I'd be going for electrical engineering.

Probably University of Minnesota-Twin Cities for chemical engineering, although I'm still waiting to hear from Northwestern, MIT, and Vanderbilt.

Staying in town and going to Boise State for the first year, while I sort out what I want to do with my life and where I want to go to college. Then I'll be transferring to whatever college I decide I want to go to.

WPissah,

Like I told my daughter - the Admissions Dept had a bad day (I actually said more than that but you get the idea.)

I'm going through the process for what feels like the the sixth time - me for undergrad and grad, my wife for 2 different grad degrees, my son and now my daughter (in at UNH and URI, out at Northeastern, waiting on BU, Mt. Holyoke, UMass and UConn). None of us got in everywhere everytime but all of us went someplace that worked out fine in the end.

Good luck.

Congrats, UMass was never easy to get into and now it is much more difficult to gain admission than back in my day (late 70's). Be sure to take advantage of the whole Five College Consortium and all that Amherst and Northampton have to offer - great college towns.

I have applied several times to many universities and colleges and gotten into everyone, every time and every program. Is that not the norm?
