This award is given to the person who did something so incredibly stupid that they would make stupid people look like geniuses!
....and the winner is.....(drum roll)......ME! (loud applause and cheering)
I drove 20 miles out of my way Friday, got lost, missed turnoffs, etc., thought I was late to my friend's surprise 50th birthday party. Well as it turns out, he answered the door! I WAS A WEEK EARLY!!!
I must have had a deer-in-the-headlights look. He questioned me why I was there and how I had his address. I mumbled and stammered and paused to think of a good lie...but drew a blank. Luckily he is a salt-of-the-earth guy and invited me in anyway.
It turned out to be a very nice night. We drank beers and margaritas and ate takeout Thai food. His wife and kids and pets were very nice. Though his wife did give me a strange look. I confessed to her when he left the room to go to the bathroom.
Anyhow I felt like a real dunce and hope that he does not suspect anything. I tried to bluff my way through things when he told me that he is going to be 50 next week.
So let's start a TIBA here.
