TalkBass iPhone / Android App Bug Reports (OT copy)

Hey guys,

I know a lot of you are getting infrequent errors when using our new iPhone and Android apps. I can see the database error reports via server log files and I know these errors are coming up about 5 times an hour, but it's not telling me enough to get to the bottom of the problem.

If you experience an app crash, or an error message, please post:

- The error message that you get (please be as exact as possible)
- The activity that you were attempting to perform when you got the error or crash. If you were loading a thread, if you can post the thread URL we will love you forever.
- Your phone type

The remote server sent an unparsable result. This could be a result of the forum software plugin being outdated.

Friday 12-17-10 ~7:20 PM, Motorola Droid, attempting to open Talkbass app which was working up until ~2 days ago.

"Parse Error" tonight at 8:22 PM CST. Had an error yesterday as well but cannot remember when. I am logged out of the app and cannot log back in (but instead am receiving this error). I'm no longer receiving push notifications either.

(P.S. -- TGP doesn't even have their own app. Bahahahaha. Thanks for all your work on this. I frequent TB more than ever because of it, and it's been incredibly helpful with some classified ads I've posted.)

For the "unparsable result" error on Android, reinstalling the app seems to fix the issue. If not let us know!

I suppose I should have mentioned I'm using an iPhone 3G running 3.1.3. I restarted the phone and all is well.

Not sure if this is exactly a bug but I cant find this app anywhere in the android market.

Are you rooted? What version of the OS are you on?

What do you mean by rooted. The phone is running android 2.1

Maybe it isn't for 2.1? I am on 2.3, and i don't know anyone on 2.1 to check for you.

Rooted = modify the phone to access the root file system and make modifications to it. It is not illegal, but will void your device warranty with Verizon at least.

I downloaded the new update last night for my iphone and now the app crashes within 3 seconds of trying to open it. Absolutely will not open.

When I try and open the app it shows the splash screen "TalkBass" and closes instantly.

I have an Iphone 2g OS 3.1.2.

Ditto. I get a flash crash. This sucks. I guess I'll have to actually play my bass instead of just reading about it.

I know how to crash it pretty consistently. Click on a link and then click on a second link while it's loading. It's like it can't redirect to that new link once it's loading then it crashes the app.
