I thought it was real shame that he left Everton, and even worse that he went to the football equivalent of "Woop-woop". What's he going to achieve playing in the States at his age (except for lots of money). Bad decision, I reckon, but he's been our best player for years, so I shouldn't bitch too much. I miss watching him play in the EPL though.

The away uni looks like an old computer punch card (yes, I am that old ). Appropriate enough for a bank-sponsored club, I guess, but not attractive.
The LFC home jersey is classic - no need to change what works.

Interesting pre-Champions League outing for Celtic today - away at Inverness, always a tough place to go and currently 2nd in the SPL, Celtic put out a team with only 5 recognized first team players and brought in some youngsters - 3-1 comfortable win and some good performances from the kids and new lads including a MOTM performance from young Aussie Tom Rogic which should please certain members :-) Juve are a huge test this week but sure, keeping the faith is what we all here do best! |

Real play today, United play tomorrow, they play each other on Wednesday. Clearly that extra days rest makes a huge difference to these elite, athletic young men on a hundred grand a week to play a bit of footy.
Oh, my beautiful game....where have you gone?
Btw, Fellaini 1-0. |

On a more serious note, let us all bow our heads and observe a two-minute chortle at city.

I may begin to call Sunderland junior Orcs. The played quite the physical game today then shrieked like babies whenever a Gunner touched one of them. Lee Cattermole should immediately be sold to the Stokeorcs. |

They've been so inconsistent, I'm happy with those 3 points. |

I don't much about Rogic, but some of the commentators here think he's a good prospect. |

They've been so inconsistent, I'm happy with those 3 points. | First half was one of the Gunners best of the season. They really should have been 3-0 up except for a some goalkeeping heroics from the Sunderland keeper. Stoke, I mean Sunderland, were kicking boy Jack at every opportunity. The second half wasn't as bright, mostly due to Jack getting taken out since it was obvious he could be kicked with no repercussions, and Carl Jenkinson getting his second yellow and taking us down to 10 men. Sagna was forced into playing center half when Kos was hurt in warmups, and had his best game of the year. He was a beast in central defense, especially down the stretch. The last 10 minutes or so, Sunderland really put the pressure on. Sagna, Giroud (yes I said Giroud), and Czczesny were HUGE in defense. The Gunners had two chances to put the game away late, but Santi missed a shot, and Walcott shot when he should have passed to a WIDE open Santi.
All in all, wasteful in front of goal, but a very gritty 3 points earned. |

I'm not surprised they targeted Wiltshire; he's been our most outstanding player lately, and just gets better with every game. He often gets the **** kicked out of him; he's a slippery customer when he runs at players. Sagna is central defence? That's unusual. I'm sorry I missed it - it sounds like it was an interesting match. Shame about Jenkinson - I thought he was great early in the season when Sagna was injured. A bit unlucky to lose his place really. Like you say, those 3 points are all the matters at this stage of the season.
Cheers,
Mark

Tough performance from the team though in a hard game
Titus - today I'm in blue!
(and that's something for a Celtic supporter :-)) |

(and that's something for a Celtic supporter :-)) | I agree they need to buy an experienced striker for the moment, but Walcott could end being a good No. 9. Considering he's only played a handful of games in that position, he hasn't done too badly. Van Persie started out as a winger, as did Thierry Henry, so who knows? His goal scoring record this season is pretty damn good. I'm not completely convinced yet, but he's certainly shown some promise. He's scored a few classy goals of late.
