| | | His car window interview was truly incredible. He wrecked the Sky guys head.
"Yeah, I'm excited."
"Yeah, I can't wait."
"They're all good guys."
Etc.
I bet the reporter was screaming inside his head , "Give me some ****** proper answers!!"

| | | | He's a pretty good attacking mid/left mid that plays for the US national team.
Going to Stoke, I'm sure you'll not be surprised to hear he's well over six foot tall, six one or two, IIRC.

I got a wonderful bit of footballing memorabilia in the post today, courtesy of Titus, at some considerable effort (and I hope I won't embarrass him if I also mention some expense) on his part. I think this was by way of a thank you for a very small favour I did for him a while back - or maybe I'm doing him a serious disservice there and he was just being totally generous for no reason other than it being in his nature. Whatever the case, it really made my day special and that doesn't happen often enough to most of us, does it fellas? Thank you mate, it is most genuinely appreciated here. Total class from a fellow bassist, scientist and football lover.

Now to bring some good aul fashioned slagging back to the forum.. Especially for our ManU loving friends....
From the FA refereeing school final exam:
Study the scenario below - a corner has been awarded against Manchester Utd. and the picture shows the result of that corner - you clearly see the incident.
Q. 1: Do you award a penalty?
Q. 2 : Who to?
(ducks quicker than a linesman who denies Fergie a penalty) :-)

Red card the corner taker.

Still, The Gunners were the better team by a country mile. They gave away 2 early goals through awful defending, but after that, they all the possession, did all the atttacking. They missed a couple of sitters and really should have won. Another 2 points just given away. |

Despite Villa's freefall, I fully expect a complacent and profligate Everton to lose at home today.
Arsenal v Stoke? Looking forward to an apoplectic Cheezewiz getting all angry about drooling orcs and suchlike.
Fulham v United? RvP to put them to the sword.
Toon v Chelski? I really hope the cheese-eating surrender-monkeys can at least hold Abramovichs playthings to a draw, but I suspect not.
Sitteh v the Redsh**e tomorrow? Sorry DS and SVT, but I'm hoping for a thumping home win.
And let's not forget poor old Bill's beloved black-and-gold's, who continue to look less and less like the team that sat atop the PL - albeit very briefly - not that long ago. Dean Saunders yet to bag a win? oh well, at least some new reading material is available to remind him of what used to be.., |

I would expect Everton to come out on top over Villa - do feel sorry for Paul Lambert but can't understand why he went there in the first place...
And a word on the other lads with the odd shaped balls - with all due respect lads I hope Scotland give England a serious doing and Ireland likewise over Wales in Cardiff - now THAT'S what you call a triumph of hope over expectation - but what can you say, it's in the genes..... O flower of Scotland... :-) |

I remember a stat I read a couple of seasons ago that Everton were the team that most teams get their first win against. Also, player with long barren streaks of not scoring break their duck most often against...Everton.
I hope I'm wrong come 4.45, but I'm not expecting it. Another chance to snatch fourth before Spurs play away at The Baggies tomorrow will inevitably go begging.
As for that egg-chasing nonsense? You should PM i_got_a_mohawk. He's another Scot (from Edinburgh IIRC) who's into that kind of thing. Big burly men with deformed ears and noses having a big old cuddle in the mud |

Or Kolkata for the pc amongst us (what am I saying - pc? on the TB footie thread!!)... Wee bit of a musical reference there and everything, whatever next |

Titus - I understand your feelings about tomorrow's game. I'd be happy with a draw, or Liverpool win 1-0 thanks to a Tevez own goal. And, as ever with matches involving such illustrious teams, a mass brawl with multiple sending off and points deductions. Maybe involving ball boys.

| We lost to Leicester on Thursday. Deano's record is now two points from twelve. Solbakken must be laughing his socks off.
To top it all, the lecturer who has the office next to mine at work is a Foxes fan (with an Evertonian next to him, as it happens). I was really glad not to be on campus yesterday.
The book is superb, by the way - really well chosen pieces that define the club very well. I was present at many of the games they've included. I nearly bought this very thing for myself when I saw you had the Everton one. I'm glad I waited now!
