Dirk Kuyt scored, which is probably why it's under suspicion.

| | | | Wow, read up on that, supposedly the fixed keeper was supposed to let in three.
If true, Liverpool couldn't even pop more than one past a fixed keeper.... ha!

Btw, any sympathy for the wife-beating alcoholic who spunked his career up the wall? Seeing the latest pics of Paul Gascoigne is really quite sad. I'll be surprised if he's still around in 12 months. The next George Best. |

The next George Best. | He could have been one of the greats, but I don't have any sympathy for wife-beaters. I wouldn't put him in the same class as George Best, though he'll probably come to a similar demise, but a lot sooner.

The last time I saw him play for Spain, he slipped on a goal kick, landed on his behind, and let in a soft goal on the ball he gave away. Everytime I've seen him play he's bundled the ball over the goal line or given away scoring chances because he can't use his feet. I think the very first time I saw him the ball hit the post, rebounded to him, and want off his leg into the goal. That must have been at least 3 or 4 years ago.

I remember one lad I used to teach who insisted that the difference between his own very moderate talents and those of someone like Robbie Keane was entirely due to the quality of boots to which a professional footballer has access. He was absolutely serious. I expect the ad was aimed at kids just like him.

"Very moderate talents" is how I would have described Robbie Keane though....

Maybe he had too many favourite boyhood clubs that he had to play for, too much hopping about to settle and just play ball.

| | | | I'm liking that England midfield, I'd have picked Baines over Cole though, stronger defensively, offensively, and a threat from set pieces.
I'm surprised that I can't offhand think of a better RB than Johnson, surely there's someone better in the country?
Brazil side looks strong.
Torn between watching that, and the Ireland game.
