Well actually chaps I'm looking forward to a display of excellent sportsmanship overlaid with an exhibition of superb skills which will leave me gasping at the audacity and consummate artistry of the participating gentlemen from both sides capped off by a fine display of accurate common sense work by all of the official's concerned in a match played to the highest standards of the game and watched by fans who show respect and admiration for the competition....

Meanwhile back in the real world, 0-0, loads of cards, brawls, mass sending off, the managers fighting and huge fines and point's deductions as SVT suggests does sound much more attractive...
And likely!

I was thinking you were possibly planning on watching a different game, a very different game...

Chelsea players net worth (inc subs) 375 million
City players net worth (inc subs) 370 million

Combined worth 745 million.

Chelsea annual wage bill 170 million
City annual wage bill 130 million

Combined wage bill 300 million.

Lets remember those figures this afternoon, when we are treated to 90 minutes of petulance, gamesmanship, simulation, bickering, squabbling and a little bit of football.

Gotta love Rafa's shake up of the squad, exactly what DiMatteo sent out against Juventus, except popping in Torres.

There you go. 745 million quids worth of 'talent' on display. Even 745 million lira seems overpriced.

In other news, Dave Sexton RIP.

"Can we stab you every week?"
"Viva Lazio."
*mimicing gas chamber noise*

Stay classy West Ham. Bet those idiots don't even know their chairman is Jewish. Can football be about football against, please?

West Ham have a long, long history of being Londons biggest troublemakers. These are the classy goons who hung and burned an effigy of Beckham when he got sent off in the World Cup. Despite what you may think of 'Brand Beckham', the man has a family.

I could regale you all with grim tales of Evertons 'Naughty Forty' and their battles with West Hams Inter City Firm.

Too much horrible crap in football, and every team has 'em. Sickening.

Yep. It's always difficult to take the moral high ground because every club has moron supporters - just some more numerous and nasty than others.

What always amuses me is the way that the likes of Leeds, Millwall and West Ham take some sort of pride in the fact that they regularly top the police 'arrests league'...like it somehow means they are bigger and harder. The truth is that they are actually just more stupid because they get caught more.

True - it's evidence that they have the largest number of morons.

Definitely agreed. Personally speaking, I can't stand the pedophile chants at Wenger.

It goes back to the whole discussion on rivalry, in many ways. I don't feel comfortable throwing the word "hate" around in general, let alone for sake of sports.

It's the sort of thing that would probably see me labelled as "not a real supporter" by many, but I can't stand the vitriol and abuse that some see as an integral part of football (and is a reason many supporters of other sports give as a reason for not following football).

I'd happily take my kids along to any rugby or cricket match - with football, I'd check who's playing first.
