Cue the Rafa magic.
Even better seeing some of the Chelski "fans"' reactions. So so priceless, even Abromavich couldn't put his money on it.

Podolski's goal was a real stunner. Giroud's pass to set it up may have even been better. Definitely the goal of the year in red and white. |

(Introductions: Man U fan (from Manchester before heading south for work 15 years ago), going back to the mid-80s. Ron Atkinson was just about still manager when I started supporting United and my first game at OT was Ferguson's first home game: 1-0 v QPR, John Sivebaek free kick. So that's my credentials established!)
Don't know the truth behind the happenings in Rome last night - the BBC seemed to be insinuating an anti-semitic edge to it. Disgusting, whatever the motivation, and nothing to do with football. Here's hoping that stuff stays out of the stadium tonight.

However, you must have a football related avatar to be a proper member
You'll remember Whitesides curler against us in 85 then? My first experience of Wembley heartbreak. |

You'll remember Whitesides curler against us in 85 then? My first experience of Wembley heartbreak. | Shocking truth? I remember not watching it because I was away at a cub camp. And I quite possibly wanted Everton to win. In my confused, didn't-have-a-clue-about-life state as a child, I briefly supported Liverpool. And I thought that Liverpool fans were meant to hate United, never realising that Everton were the real rivals.
Then I found we were moving from Cheshire to Manchester and, being a fickle child (who was scared of getting a good kicking at my new school), soon changed my allegiance!

DarkStrike is our resident Manc, Keano is a Spur, Cheezewiz and Martin are Gooners - though I think Martins first loyalty is to the Hoops. Bill is the grumpy Wolves fan, Ed is Shrewsbury/Newcastle....fortunately we have no Kopites in here, though Roger from Uruguay chipped in occasionally with his blinkered love of Suarez
The thread is busier on match days and during tournaments, but we like sharing stories and reminiscing about players, teams and games from days gone by.
Oh, and we are united in our loathing of all things Terry, Barton, Blatter and Chelski.
Pony up and get that avatar |

| | | | I know a girl that changed allegiances multiple times, began as a United fan(via family), swapped to 'pewl because of Michael Owen, and the to Chelsea because she married a Chelsea fan.
I think there is another United fan, but he posts rarely.
Hope you stick about SVT, this thread is excellent, a lot of fun.

In the sixties in Liverpool, it was quite common to watch Everton one week and Liverpool the next, depending on who was at home. Up until the early 80's, red and blue scarves mingled freely in the Kop and on the Gwladys Street during derbies. It's only really since Heysel that rivalry has become out-and-out hostility. |

| | | | Once upon a time the same was true in Manchester, between the red half and the bad half.
Clattenburg completely cleared of all charges. It took the FA over 2 weeks, with video reel, to establish with Ramirez when he thought anything was said. You think that'd be memorable, if you weren't making it up... 3 miced refs, two nearby English(Chelsea) players, and the supposed victim not hearing anything anyway.
No apology, or acknowledgement given to Clattenburg from them either, that could be due to opening themselves up for a lawsuit, though.
Mikel to be charged with violent conduct/threatening behaviour.
Fair play to Chelsea though. if it wasn't for them, Mikel would be laying for us.

I wish they'd auction off the gaping holes in our back four.

I still wouldn't be a fan of anyone else. The recent spate of Man City "supporters" emerging in our local schools is hilarious.
The current crop of City fans are like Jimmy Savile victims - they don't say a word for 40 years and then all of a sudden they can't shut the **** up.

| | | | Aye, they're starting to crop up out of nowhere.
You may notice a lot of them are former fans of another big club with blue, albeit darker, shirts....
