Do you think this is an important newsworthy issue, or will boys be boys?

Jake Arend endured years of repeated
ball tapping by classmates, resulting in surgery.

Mary Conway says teachers, principals
and school nurses must be more aware of
ball tapping, too.

Awesome.

Boys will be boys. I remember that happening in elementary school, only it was called bag tag.

Um. A "flick of the wrist" is far different than a "socket wrench" when it comrs to scrotal violence. If someone would have hit me with a socket wrench, I'm pretty sure I would have plotted their demise, after laying in the fetal position.

Our school had bag tag, I remember students being hit so hard sometimes that they would fall to the ground and roll around in pain. Funny as hell.

Agree. If this came into general practise at my school and someone did it to me, I'd hit them however. Why these kids let others kick them in the balls without setting and example of what happens to them if they do, I have no idea.

Doesn't happen around me thank god, but it used to. That kid has issues with being uber bullied. The bag tag is just an offshoot of that, so you should be attacking the bulliness that crossed the line (socket wrench, seriously, wth?) because boys will be boys but some will be idiots for going so far and for so long in the first place, and also for not speaking up about getting regularly hit in the balls.

It's happened once or twice as a kid.

If it happened now, i'd face-tap my fist into their jaw.

Happens. It's actually less damaging on the long term than ball-fondling.

I find it quite idiotic TBH.

Let me put it this way: WHO IN THEIR ****ING RIGHT GODDAMN MIND WANTS TO GET HIT IN THE ****ING BALLS???????????????

EDIT: OR WOULD ALLOW SAID BALL HITTING TO CONTINUE TO HAPPEN TO THEM?????????

I went thru a lot of bullying, but I think I would've DRAWN A ****ING LINE at people HITTING ME IN THE ****ING NADS!!!!!!!!!!

I remember shoulder punching and bloody knuckles when I was but a wee lad but this is a little over the top.
