Tascam Bass trainer

iPod Nano

iPod Mini

I have this BestPractice software that can slow down music, but I don't find it very good. It gets too distorted. How is the Tascam trainer better? Will I have to buy the AC adapter? Is it (efficiently) usable as an mp3 player?
I'm leaning towards the Nano because I have the software I mentioned, and because the Mini uses a hard drive instead of the flash memory the Nano uses. The Tascam is considerably more expensive.

Anyway, tell me what you think!

Wait, there's software I can put on my iPod that lets me slow down songs, but not pitch? Does it work for Mac?

I have the Tascam Bass Trainer and find it very useful, but I'm curious... can I get some similar software function for my iPod?

No, if I choose the iPod I'll have to keep using the software I have on my laptop, leaving me attached to my desk for transcribing.
