Good job puking on a chick, though! Was it like the reverse of that scene in "40 Year Old Virgin"?

Oh, wait this thread is about tatoos. Okay, so furthermore I pretty much agree w/ Dr. Cheese, that most tatoos detract from the beauty of a person's body. Most of them.
But holy hell, the 0.0001% of tatoos that do enhance a woman's body, cot- dayum they get me harder than trigonometry! HNNNNNNNNNGGGG!
Oops, sorry 'bout that, I seem to have momentarily lost control there. Uh, as I was saying, I think most tatoos don't help. Too big, too garish, don't compliment (or even acknowledge) the lines of the body part they're drawn on, a lot of them seem more concerned with what they "say" or what they mean (sic) than what they look like (sort of like the Syntax versus Semantics trope). Some of them would be beautiful art if only they weren't on a body part!
So yeah, most tatoos really don't work for me aesthetically. |

So yeah, most tatoos really don't work for me aesthetically. | I think you and I agree 100%. In all fairness, some small tatoos are pretty sexy, but I would just as soon see a painting on a canvas. All of that artwork just interferes with nature's handiwork when it's on a woman's body the majority of the time.

| | | | Tattoos, any tattoo is distracting and takes away from the beauty of the body.
As my daddy used to tell me,
"Anyone wimp or yahoo with a few dollars can get a tattoo, it takes a real man to not succumb to peer pressure or trend"
"If the tattoo is so freaking awesome, get a picture of it and hang it on the wall so everyone can see it"
"Trust me, 25 years from now, no young-in's are gonna be gettin' tattoos and will be making fun of all the old folks with blurry, ugly ink all over their body"

The most extreme of it was once seen as pagan, and banned by Judism and Islam, thus suppressed for a while in human history. That fear of God and measure of social control is gone and the only thing that will stop it is the cost to get it done. Yet with so many artist in competition suppressing the price that is not an control either

| | | I'm really quite surprised by a lot of the comments in this thread. For a community of musicians, who so often are regarded as forward thinking and "radical" (I'm trying to avoid the whole rock'n roll tag but you know what I mean without typecasting everyone here as I know there are people here who play all kinds of music.) there seems to be a surprising number of people with very narrow views and a lot of insecurities.
Just an observation.
I for one absolutely love tattoos on girls although obviously the tattoos themselves are important. As a reflection of the character of the person they are on if I like a person I'm likely to like their tattoos and vice versa. I do find them to be highly attractive too which helps |

So long as the tats themselves are tasteful, I like them on women. Since women generally have much better taste than men, they usually have much better tats.

My attitude is that nothing looks better than a woman's body. It needs no decoration, especially ink. | I agree Cheese...tacky tacky tacky |

My dad, God rest his soul, didn't mince words | This. It's amazing how many people will follow what ever trend comes along.

I believe that a lot (probably most) tattoos gotten today are done to impress others. |
