Tattoo design help?

Sign in to disble this ad
So I searched, and didn't find what I was looking for - now I'm turning to TB for advice/help.

I want to get a bass-clef tattoo, with a very specific idea of what I want, but without the skills to make it happen. I could go to a tattoo artist and work with him or her on the design, but why not check here first?

Anyway, what I'm looking for is a combination of bass clef and dreamcatcher. I'm 1/4 Cherokee, and 4/4 bassist (get it?) and would like to combine two huge influences in my life into one tattoo.

So basically what I'm looking for is something like this:

Vertically oriented design, with the bass clef instead of the wolf (I think?) print. Threads are good, I'd like some better-looking beads, but the real challenge is the feathers - instead of feathers, I'd like musical staff shaped like feathers, with notes oriented so as to be readable if the image were turned 90 degrees CCW. Dunno what tune or melody to put there, either. And maybe four feathers instead of three - two large in the middle and two smaller ones on the outside.

Anyone wanna take a stab at this?

Thanks!

Well, lucky for you, I am a pro tattoo artist. I would say your idea of putting a bass clef in there, no problem......however, You mess with the feathers, you will loose a lot of the "readability" of the design. I get what you are going for, but you already have hit the "musician" imagery with the bass clef (the focal point), busy up the feathers with musical staff and notes, and you rob the focal point of it's importance. Go work with a tattoo artist, they will flesh it out for probably a $20 deposit. Find an artist who you like, write out your ideas to em, and let them run with it.
best of hope for you,
and stay away from them scratchers.

Did you get this tattoo done or any other at all?
