TB Beanie = $36!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
I just tried to order a TB Beanie…the ones for $12.95. After shipping to Toronto it came out to $36.00!!! $23.00 to ship a Beanie???!!??? Come on, TB. Offer some better shipping rates to your Canadian participants.

$23.00 is just stupid, especially to Canada.

Brutal. I can see maybe $10.00 USPS regular ground, or slowest ground service.

One of the reasons I've never bought anything from the TB store. Prices are outrageous.

If prices were decent I might go for it though, I dont mind paying an extra 5 bucks for shipping if it gets me what I want but thats just not gonna happen

So let's see...$23.00 to Canada - same continent, large transportation networks available all over the place.

$30.00 to the Netherlands, thousands of miles away, across an ocean, on a different continent.

$7.00 difference. Geez, who the hell is the genius that negotiated those freight rates?

Just to play Devil's Advocate, it probably is due much more to the fact that purchases are infrequent so the boxes are purchased and the time & effort to ship is an individual effort rather than a shipping dept. Besides, the proceeds go right back into paying for the site, so you could just consider it giving a little something back.

Sorry but thats BS. Only with memberships, I would bet my right arm that TB makes a NICE sum of money, it will pay for all expenses, and there will be QUITE the amount left after that. Look up hosting prices, then look up the number of supporting memberships and multiply by 20 bucks a pop (every year).

That's quite a few thousand dollars profit.

There's a difference between donating and getting fleeced.

More food for thought, if you do not have a good ad-blocker TB is littered with ads...

Yep. Even with a supporting membership you get spammed, and I must admit I've clicked interesting stuff in the past.

Prices are definitely higher than they should be, IMO. Combine that with crazy shipping people here are mentioning. It's not right.

I pay my 20 bucks, because I use TB daily and I must admit I wouldn't be the bass player I am today, and won't be the bass player I will be in the future, without it. It's worth it for me, even if I have the mods circling over my head like vultures

I could buy a run of the mill beanie like that for 5 bucks and take it to a mall ballcap embroidery kiosk and have an F clef put onnit for @ 10 bucks and still be 20 dollars richer by those prices...
