It's been a few months since I've been biking but I need to get back into it... definitely a fun way to work out. Not as high impact as running but still gets you out in the fresh air with lots of nice things to look at.

At most I might do 4 or 5, and that only SOME days.

With my busy lifestyle, I usually average about 150 miles a week, but this has been a very rainy season and our spring came very late, which is just plain odd. My main bike trail is along a creek bed, which has been flooding with the excessive rains. Then again, a tornado hit about a mile from my house and my block didn't get a scratch, so I shouldn't complain too much. |

I was in great shape then....

Living in a smallish city with outstretching suburbs, I've had a bike since I was a kid. Lots of things within a few-mile radius and great walkway network, so it's easy to get anywhere without having to ride on public roads amongst cars. I think during my best summer in high school I clocked about 1500 miles in five months, just cruising around to the school, to the city and around the suburbs.

I mostly use my Bianchi 928 C2C, but I also have a Raleigh M600 mountain bike that I use sometimes. I mostly ride on a local paved trail with my road bike or about 30 minutes northeast from where I live because my town is far from biker friendly. Unless I'm biking in a larger pack, I avoid anything but designated trails or empty highways since motorists tend to pick on cyclists when we're not in packs. |

It's mostly hills so either your huffing and puffing up one or burning rubber down it. It takes me about an hour and 15 minutes to complete and is a lot of fun because of the wonderful scenery. At the upper most portion I get a great view of the valley and Mt. Hood in the distance... killer run.
Last summer I was doing some longer runs in the neighborhood of 25 to 40 miles. I'm planning on doing that again this summer but just haven't been able to find enough time recently. Things usually calm down for me once summer hits so... eventually.
