I put in nearly 3 grueling off-road miles yesterday. I'll probably use the rest of this month to recover.

When I bike I try to go at least 10 miles. We have some nice (paved) trails around here... the entire length of the nicest one is around 35 miles. One day I'll try to do it all.

It's been a few months since I've been biking but I need to get back into it... definitely a fun way to work out. Not as high impact as running but still gets you out in the fresh air with lots of nice things to look at.

I've been thinking about getting a computer on my bike and doing some of my cardio with it, as an alternative to running. I might join the thread some of these days

When I biked to school last semester, I got about 7 miles per day- Unfortunately I couldn't continue that all year, because of weather restrictions.

Man ~35 miles a day is nuts.

At most I might do 4 or 5, and that only SOME days.

I think I've only logged about 470 miles, not including time spent on bikes at the gym. I keep my spreadsheet at work and forgot how to log on to the server.

With my busy lifestyle, I usually average about 150 miles a week, but this has been a very rainy season and our spring came very late, which is just plain odd. My main bike trail is along a creek bed, which has been flooding with the excessive rains. Then again, a tornado hit about a mile from my house and my block didn't get a scratch, so I shouldn't complain too much.

I wouldn't get on the bike without going at least 25 miles. Weekends were reserved for 45-70 mile rides.

I was in great shape then....

By the way, you guys have proper road bikes or what? Mine's a basic 21-gear MTB with semi-slicks for urban use.

Living in a smallish city with outstretching suburbs, I've had a bike since I was a kid. Lots of things within a few-mile radius and great walkway network, so it's easy to get anywhere without having to ride on public roads amongst cars. I think during my best summer in high school I clocked about 1500 miles in five months, just cruising around to the school, to the city and around the suburbs.

I mostly use my Bianchi 928 C2C, but I also have a Raleigh M600 mountain bike that I use sometimes. I mostly ride on a local paved trail with my road bike or about 30 minutes northeast from where I live because my town is far from biker friendly. Unless I'm biking in a larger pack, I avoid anything but designated trails or empty highways since motorists tend to pick on cyclists when we're not in packs.

I actually did a nice 6mile offroad trek esterday with some friends. Some nice forest and downhill trails. Reminded me how badly I need to upgrade my bike, If it weren't for my motorcycle I'd have a nice downhill bike!

On my Norco Evolve, I pretty much do 1 vertical mile for every three horizontally travelled.

I have a 16 mile run I go on once or twice a week. It's mostly hills so either your huffing and puffing up one or burning rubber down it. It takes me about an hour and 15 minutes to complete and is a lot of fun because of the wonderful scenery. At the upper most portion I get a great view of the valley and Mt. Hood in the distance... killer run.

Last summer I was doing some longer runs in the neighborhood of 25 to 40 miles. I'm planning on doing that again this summer but just haven't been able to find enough time recently. Things usually calm down for me once summer hits so... eventually.

Nine miles round trip to my workplace. Moderate hills, but nothing too difficult.
