TB Classifieds: Is it just me or....

Have sales really slowed down in the classifieds? Lately it seems like anything over $50 doesn't sell. Economy? Too much product?

May be I am wrong. What do I know.......I just play bass.

I think it depends on a lot of factors. I was getting inquiries on a Fender I just sold minutes after I posted it, and it was gone in a few hours. It was a relatively cheap one, though. I've seen a few Am. Deluxe basses that people just can't seem to get rid of.

Bingo. Actually, it's a good time to be buying gear. Lot's of sellers are anxious to sell.

I can't afford much these days. The tax refund is for a new house. Gig money is making payments on the van - not to mention filling the gas tank. Daycare is always good for a few hundred a month.

Things are pretty tight right now...

I'm cutting way back on my buying and selling. I spent a LOT of time packing and shipping over the last year and a half. Other than the OLD T-40, I just scored yesterday, I'm saving up to buy a real nice bass, possibley at the Atlanta Bass Gallery when I go up there in June. I'm done with projects, fixer uppers and budget basses. I have a room full of them

It could be taxes or the economy - but I'm also seeing a bunch of used basses up there that I could buy new for just about the same price.

Yup. If you've got cash, it's looking like a buyer's market for a lot of items. I'm getting really tempted by stuff I just do not need at this point.

Thats right. Any thread that says "like new" or "mint" in the title gets quickly skipped because I know the person thinks that knocking 10% off the price they paid is going to do it for me.

50-60% people. Maybe 70%.

Otherwise...

I think you guys are filing your taxes wrong. After this tax year's tax return the classifieds are making me feel like a kid in a candy store.

Maybe everyone just feels like they have a bunch of really good gear and don't feel like buying any more!

Didn't have to pay taxes this year! Didn't make enough to to get a rebate either.

I am getting $2600 back. More than I paid and no I did not make a mistake. That is paying for my motorcycle.
