Trying to get a good night's sleep?
Based on a recent TB poll there are quite a few sleepy heads on TB that need help.
Check in here for tips and tricks. Post your own and if you have some books/articles/links/equipment that have helped you, post those too.
Here's mine: I use a sound machine like this one. I like the huge on/off button and the "rain" sound for a continuous sleep tone.
Wake me up when you're done zzzzzzzz PS. No member numbers will be issued due to lack of sleep.... |

Life sucks.

Been that way for the past 17 years. It's getting more difficult to get away with but i'm still young (36) so I do what I do. In all that time I have found the best way to get a good night's sleep (along with other common problems) is to simply be healthy. Don't eat anything from a box or can, drink lots of water, excercise daily, don't smoke or drink.............A healthy lifestyle cures a lot of everyday common issues......which is why I have a lot of everyday common issues..LOL. I like booze and smokes |

But I think the reason I get so little sleep is more my fault than anything else. I just can't get myself to go to bed at a decent time! I regret it every morning.

Water flushes out the stress hormone Cortisol. Sweeting also flushes out the Cortisol. And Sunlight produces Vitamin D, which improves sleep. |

| | | | I was a bad sleeper for decades and I chalked it up to all kinds of things- stress, noise at certain times, snoring/apnea, etc. I lost at least one job because I was often brain-dead in the morning and overslept. Last March, I went to PHX to buy a cargo van and as usual, I drank a lot less diet Pepsi while I was there (the dry air makes me crave water more than soda). I used to tell myself that it didn't matter, although I had stopped drinking it later than about 7PM. I slept like a rock the 1st night and didn't feel the need for Diet Pepsi, so I kept drinking water. Slept great the whole time and drank a few Diet Pepsi on the drive back, but avoided too many. I have been sleeping better than ever, pretty consistently since then. I feel much better, my mood is much better and I'm a happy camper.
I just wish I had done this 35 years ago. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
