Well, after 26 and 1/2 years with the State of Texas Attorney General Child Support Division, I am about to start a new chapter, new adventure...retirement. Tomorrow, 12/31/10, is my last day "on the payroll", but today is my last day on the job. How many other TB's are retired? Enjoying retirement? Went back to work? I will be packing up and moving from Fort Worth, TX to Lake Charles, LA to spend the rest of my life with the man I have been in love with for 28 years. He is a TBr. He actually plays bass. I try, but...well, let's just leave it at that. Let me hear from you guys and gals whether you are retired or not. Wish me luck!!

Congratulations!
I will be interested to hear others chime in about retirement. Some people love the word and others don't. I for one love the word, but pensions are becoming rarities and 401k plans don't seem to be the best retirement vehicle in my eyes. So, actually achieving the dream of retirement seems like a... well, like a dream for so many folks in the future.

All the best to you in your new life.

I'm not quite retired yet but I'm just under 50 and down to a couple of days a week tops. I think a lot of people are unaware that on average we're working more hours for less money than we were 20 years ago which = less time for the things that really spark you as an individual like music, sports, putting in the shop or whatever. Too many folks are digging themselves financial holes they can never climb out of and living their whole lives as debt slaves. Glad to hear from someone who didn't do that. Enjoy the freedom you created for yourself!
