Journalism fail

Being that it's your high school, any info you have beyond that absolutely illuminating news story?

Sad to say, I've seen teachers get busted for worse things than that.

My middle school bus driver always had a little vodka mixed in with her coffee in the mornings. Great way to start the day huh?

Mine was a history teacher who had the mysterious aluminum coffee mug with him at all times. Good times.

The second guy with curly hair actually is mentally disabled.

It's not Jacksonville. Jax is a pretty modern city. This place is called Nahunta. Not everyone is like that, but yeah, it's pretty redneck. I'm glad I don't live there anymore. Also, if you didn't catch it the first time, the second guy has a mental disability, so yeah...

(I've got a feeling the third guy is drunk himself...)

Since when did it become an arrestable offense to be drunk on the job? I'm not saying it's okay or that she shouldn't be reprimanded, but being arrested for being drunk on the job seems a bit much.

well, she had to get there somehow, right? she either got drunk on the grounds or drove into the school parking lot drunk. either of those would be a pretty good start for cuffs, i would think.

i also think that public drunkeness would be applicable here.

and surely there's some extra gravy for it being a school.

The arrestable offense is Drunk in Public. That applies anywhere outside your home, including your front/back yard. I'd bet there are laws that apply further at a school, the same as the penalties being higher for carrying weapons in/near a school.

Laws are written that way.

Public intoxication / drunk and disorderly conduct.

Edit: Beaten to it.

lets minimize the use of the "******" word, ok? it's got an inherent negative connotation beyond what it is describing, and that's not cool here.

thanks.
