Tebow Fever

From the religious criticism towards him, to the comebacks...I can't go anywhere without hearing about him.

Jake Plumber taking smack, and Elway, the president of the organization telling the media that Tebow is not the answer while he starts for his team.

If Elway was smart, he would embrace him, at least for right now and starting selling Tebow jerseys!

I like him, I think he's a good role model for kids in this day and age. At least until he shoots himself in the leg in the club...

As I said in another thread I highly dislike him in all ways and think he's highly overrated. I look forward to seeing someone just crushing him.

I loved seeing that the lions crush Denver too. Just wish I had cable so I could have watched it.

Did you see Mark Sanchez inadvertenly "Tebowing" after a big hit when the Broncos beat the Jets? As a Pats fan, that made my day

First, let me admit bias as a UF alumnus...

Now, the whole religious thing is indeed quite obnoxious. Whatever though. Don't get so upset about it. This coming from a rather ardent atheist.

As far as his actual performance on the field, it's much too early to tell. It seems like some people are ready to write his legacy as an NFL quarterback with just a handful of starts.

That's where I stand on it.
He's young, give it time. Fans turn on you quick.
I'll still call him Teblow though... haha

I'm not religious myself, but I'll take Tebow thanking god anytime over club brawls, profanity at fans, cheating, twatting smack about other players, steroids....the list goes on and on.

I know that this can't keep up forever, but the guy just got started playing....jesus (no pun intended).

I like dirty play and dirty football. But SMART football. I guess that's why my favorite player was Jack Lambert.

They've made football entirely too safe. You can't lead with your helmet? Really?

Anyway...uh...yeah I don't like Tebow. He's like Cam Newton without an arm.

Looking at the Broncos' schedule, they've done well against second-tier opponents, and have tanked against better teams, which is to be expected for a team as bad as the Broncos. They've got the Chicago Bears in Week 14 and the New England Patriots in Week 15, two teams with some savvy when it comes to designing defensive game plans. We'll know what Tebow is really like after these two games.

Same boat.. UF alumnus.. and actually had Tebow on my writing class roster when he was an incoming freshman before he tested out of the class!

As a non-believer and buddhist (see sig below!), I was never bothered by his religious thing. He was never in your face about it. Most of what he did was passive and without any hoopla (yes I just said hoopla). Even that pro-life super bowl commercial was non-offensive.

I've found that most people either really love him or really hate him. My gf is dying for him to get caught in some kind of sex scandal or something, but I tell her it ain't gonna happen!

Personally, I like the guy, and hope he ends up being the best QB in football history.

Why? I like underdogs and good guys.

Tebow seems like a good guy, and a great athlete, but his skill set is not complete enough to carry a team through playoffs and to a championship in the NFL. As is true in most pro sports, the playoffs are an entirely new season, an entirely new level of intensity and competition. Dramatic razzle dazzle fourth quarter comeback play that can happen during the regular season, gets a big bitch slap when the playoffs come along.

People have been saying the same things about Tebow for years, they haven't been right yet.

I know one big thing the critics are always talking about are his throwing mechanics. Ever see Favre throw the football? He had probably the worst throwing motion in history, and well, he's going to the Hall of Fame. I think Tebow will catch on. Can't be any worse than Ryan Leaf

I live in Denver, bleed orange and blue, and I gotta say, he's an enigma.

I was an Orton supporter until he started putting up mediocre numbers. Then I joined the "what the hell, give the kid a chance" crowd.

I think there are definitely a lot of intangibles at work with this team that has gone 4-1 since Tebow took over. Suddenly the backs are hungrier, the defense is stingier, the special teams are doing a great job and the Broncos seem to be winning the field position game. Much to their credit, the offensive coaching staff has rallied around Tebow, designing plays intended to squeeze out some productivity and keep him from blowing it. Defenses are not adjusting to the option as quickly as I thought they would, Denver comes up with just enough big plays to win, and you have more players on both sides of the ball in on those big plays than I've seen for a long, long time.

It's a total team effort, no doubt. Does Tim Tebow have that kind of enthusiastic, motivational leadership charm to make that kind of impact? Or is the team just tired of sucking and guys are just playing with more heart and soul?

And when they play really good teams (like Detroit), the true colors will show. But there aren't too many of those left on the schedule (Chicago lost Cutler, the Vikings, some AFC West rivals), and, if they can keep up the pace, there is a very real possibility Denver will win their division.

Which would totally blow my mind.

no reason to doubt this is true, but...this is just Tebow's first season. (actually first part of a season as a starter)

will he be good? the jury is still out. hope so. let's see how he finishes the season.

anyway, he's made his money so whatever happens, he'll be able to go on if he doesn't make it in the NFL.

however, as was pointed out...Brett Farve was not exactly a conventional quarterback...i look forward to a super bowl with him vs. jay cutler...

I wouldn't go that far, but I do like underdogs and good guys as well.

I still can't see why some people hate the guy so much
