haul out the bunting and keep your granny away from the gin til noon, we've got a day's holiday tomorrow due to the Royal Wedding(tm).

an alarmingly bald Prince William will be saying 'i do' to some brunette girl with he picked up while at college.

wall-to-wall media coverage and street parties for some, a four-day drinking binge for others... and for a small minority, yet another chance to whip rocks at the police and receive a baton to the face by way of return.

so, TB, has any of this hysteria filtered through to you in the US or elsewhere? will anyone be watching it? does anyone, for some strange reason, care? UK TBers, what are your plans?

i am of the 'couldn't give a toss' camp & plan to spend the day drinking heavily as far away as possible from a television, but i would be interested to hear your thoughts

Eh, it's our Royal Family too, but they will marry while I'm at work. No holiday here.

We're not interested here at all unless they make it to "Dancing With the Stars" or one of them beats up a transgendered woman at a McDonalds.

Alternatively, you could have one (or both!) take a bath in some delicious, delicious chocolate. Then I'd care for many reasons!

I'm from Ontario Canada, I really don't know anybody who cares at all about this business. It is constantly being advertised on the CBC though. I imagine the news of this coverage is interests the same age and gender bracket as twilight, either really young teen/preteen girls, or really really lonely middleaged women. I have yet to meet a guy who cares at all, and I have yet to meet a woman who cares about it any more than "well, I'm glad they're getting married". I have yet to meet anybody who's willing to get up at 4:00 am and watch it.

I almost forgot, it's all over the Maclean's magazine, we have a subscription and I really only read the funny feschuck articles (other than that it's a useless and highly opinionated magazine), but I think this is the third or fourth "UBER SPECIAL SUPER DOUBLE SIZED ISSUE", I think they have something like 20 of those every year, they really aren't that special.

My wife is studying for her final exams now so her attention has been diverted elsewhere. My sister and mother are really into it and both plan to be up at 4 am when the coverage is supposed to start here on the east coast. Luckily with all of this other stuff going on I ought to have a diversion free weekend for the NFL draft.

It can get interesting, the Phelps Family is planning a protest in front of Westminster Abbey. They called the protest "God hates the UK and" wait for it........ "Fags".

I guess they don't know that's how we call cigarettes.

Ha! "Anglophile" sounds like a perversion involving pasty skinned women.

While our money is awesome, and worth more than ours , I could do without the Queen on the majority of it and I never want to see Prince Charles on it.

Exactly how much cash is going to be wasted on this crap anyway?
I suppose the holiday would also mean large revenues for local business, which could be great, but the crazy amounts spent could get a lot of teeth fixed over there! wakka-wakka
