Television as a computer monitor

I have a a music room at home with all my basses guitars etc...
I use an Imac to record, read charts, and sometimes go on the internet.
I would like to bring a television in this room also, I would also make it the gaming room for the Xbox and the Wii.
My wife is a gamer so she could play her games and I could watch a movie in the living room if I want to.

So the room is about 12' by 12' I was thinking about selling the Imac and buy a Mac Mini instead and plug it in the television.

What scare me is the lower resolution on the television.

What else should I expect?

Maybe I could just sell my 21" Imac, buy a new 27" imac and plug the Xbox in it?
Is it possible?

Lots of variables to consider in your scenario, but I would imagine that a 1080p lcd tv would be a great monitor for a mac mini. Biggest concern would be viewing distance vs screen size. If you are the full 12 ft away I'd say you could go 42 inches or so. 6 ft away a large screen might appear pixilated.

Yep, as long as it's an HD TV, resolution is not really an issue (depending of course on what resolution you're running on the Mac).

I was thinking to go with a 32" LCD full hd screen. I'm pretty sure that 32" will be enough.
