So is there really another Terminator movie? Sheesh. What more can they possibly do with this series? The trailer on ESPN.com says something about "we fight back". I thought they fought back in another movie or in the TV series?

The new movie is, as I understand it, an entirely new take on the series, much like Batman Begins was a different take on Batman. New director, new writers, new actors (not that there was ever a constant in that regard, with exception to Arnie), slightly modified storyline. I'm actually pretty excited for it.

I looks like it could be pretty good.

Apparently Arnie is making a cameo in it

as i understand it, the "future" that the original terminator and kyle reese came from, who educated sarah (And then john) connor about what was coming, was changed by this. so basically john connor knows a little bit more than the average joe, but a lot of skynet and the terminator story has changed a lot due to their previous meddling.

I've been a fan of hers since "8 Below". Moon comes from her Korean mom and Bloodgood comes from her English father...definitely chock full of "o"s

Anyways, the famous Christian Bale rant comes from the filming. If you don't know what I'm talking about, do a "Christian Bale" search on Youtube. Definitely not work safe but friggin hilarious!

Is anyone not familiar with that by now? I think with the combination of every major news network covering it, plus the now infamous Peter Griffin overdub of it made it common knowledge.

I had rented 8 Below for my son a couple of weeks ago and noticed her right off the bat, she's a hottie!
Yes, dad was checkin' out the hottie while son was watching the doggies. Does that make me a bad bad man??

The human acting in that movie kinda sucked but the dog scenes were awesome. Moon and the eight dogs MADE that movie.

I've been watching the Connor Chronicles and enjoying that take on Terminator and how skynet comes into play. This, AFAIK is kind of the next step from the Connor Chronicles. Oh yeah, Moon is smoking hot. I'm actually looking forward to this movie.

Saw the preview and the full cast at last summer's ComicCon here in San Diego (what I could see through my Storm Trooper helmet at least ). Looked good then, will definitely see it within the next few days.

That may be the nerdiest statement I have ever read on TB.

You'd prefer me to break character by taking off an essential costume piece?

Then people would assume I was either Luke or Han from ep. IV. GOSH!

I've been a Terminator fan since I was a kid.
T2 is one of my top 5 movies.
Sarah O'Connor chronicles is one of my fav. series ever.(Mostly because of Summer Glau though.Man I love that chick.)

Biggest difference is,this movie is going to take place in the future, after the Skynet launches the nukes as I see.I'm excited about this one.Wish Summer Glau was in it too though.

Now that I have seen her, this is a must-see. But yeah, was interested since I saw the trailer in The Dark Knight. Been a Terminator fan since I was little, but haven't watched Chronicles yet. Guess I gotta go get it at the Hajji shop.

Peace,
Greg

I'm actually interested in seeing this movie, although I never paid attention to any other terminator movies or series...so the question is, will I fully understand what's going on or will I miss some nuances that the series has?

The first reviews have been dreadful... Harry at AICN isn't known for rationalising his opinions, so read what he thinks of it here (warning - fruity language). I tend to find myself agreeing with most of his reviews, but I'll probably still go and see it.

Arnie isn't "personally" in it - it's a CG model of him, made from scanning the body casts made for his prosthetics in the first film. It's supposed to look pretty convincing though.

I think it will require some knowledge of the basic storyline (ie, evil robots from the future trying to kill someone from the past who's destined to destroy them). Just go rent T1 and T2 (you can skip T3 and the TV series) and that'll tell you all you'll need to know.
