When did people no longer become responsible for what they do to themselves? I can understand why she should be embarrassed about falling in the fountain, but who caused that to happen?

drat. | I was thinking that as well. She feels compelled to let CNN know she was texting a friend "from church". Like that somehow absolves her of being responsible from her own stupidity.
I've heard of people walking into telephone poles and other people whilst texting,...so I make it a point to stop what I'm doing if I need to reply.
Not that it's ever happened to me but if someone bumps into me while texting I'm going to try like hell to "accidentally" knock their phone out their hands. |

If she had just laughed this off like a good sport, it would have stood her in much better stead, a little faux pas is only embarrassing if you make an obvious big deal about it on T.V. She was unhurt and security may have been elsewhere at the time. It's not as if she didn't know it was there, I think it's what you call sleeping on the job.
Compensation in mind I think, she has been advised.
