"then" vs. "than"

It is amazing to me how many people (not just on this forum, but in general) have no idea how to use the words "then" and "than".

less then = wrong
more then = wrong
other then = wrong
taller then = wrong
shorter then = wrong (unless you were to type "I was shorter then than I am now.")
rather then = wrong

I know. Life is too short to get bugged by things like this. I get it.

*shrugs* I'm a grammar nazi when it comes to self but if I can read it, I don't really care about how others work out their thoughts.

Your right. Anyone who has past third grade should of known this. I guess it's just two hard for people too bother to learn grammar rules. Their not that hard. Its a shame when a word isn't used for it's proper meaning. Or maybe I just have way better principals then everyone else (which certainly isn't much of a complement).

Maybe part of the problem is that a lot of TB members, as myself, are foreigners and english is not our first language.
But I can understand your point. The fact that all different kinds of people, with different educational levels meet on this forum to discuss their interest for all things bass makes for some really interesting clashes in how to use the written word

I'm amused by a lot of the grammer I see... I can't fault anyone anymore though because spellcheck, without humancheck, now makes all things possible. Spell check has several times made me look much like the politically correct term for a ******. Don't want to be politically incorrect.

It doesn't bother me much so long as the message is clear. What they are saying is far more important to me than wether they are saying it with perfect grammar. Whats the point of missing the point by getting hung up on wether the person has an A level, O level or no level of language education. Unless of course the persons talking rubbish as well lol.
I dont like struggling through a load of street talk on forums yet love to hear patois and jive talk in the real world.
