Is there a guitar equivalent...

of Talkbass? I've been playing bass for a few years now, and Talkbass has helped me IMMENSELY. Now, I'm going to pick up the guitar.. Does anyone here know of a good forum for guitarists? I haven't found any nearly as good as this one.

For the record...I'm still a BASSIST who's just testing the waters of the guitar.

The Gear Page is good, just don't expect the warm, fuzzy Talkbass community. We're just nicer, smarter people.

Agreed. The closest I've found to TalkBass is The Gear Page.

The Gear Page is probably the closest, but the folks there are generally older and definitely not as friendly. There are a few open minded folks there, though

Guitar players are too cocky to ask questions or answer them so I'm afraid an online community with any value other than watching show boating diddling is out of the realm of possibility.

+1 on the other guitar forums, different from this one. There were a couple related to Fender Guitars and Jackson Guitars that I went to for a while but don't expect the warm respones you get here, talk bass is the best site .

The Gear Page is incredibly annoying and is very biased towards certain guitars and they tend to not care about anything else. When you search for things it feels very limited on content unless you are looking for something about Les Pauls, PRS or Fender.

Ultimate Guitar is a bunch of high school kids that find the forums while looking for metallica tabs.

I just started playing guitar too

I signed up to the Gear Page, but I never go there. I definitely agree that the community here is much nicer. But then again, I've been a member for 10 years, so I could just be comfortable.

That's because that's where all the best a classic tones come from....anything else and it might as well be the Best Guitar For Metal page. At best the other brands are imitations of these.

I've got a Steinberger and a Parker Fly that will make you eat those words!

TDPRI is good; it used to be Fender-only (to an EBMM forum level) but they've since come around and are tolerant toward other brands. It's a very slow forum, though.

Yup. I only go on there to find wiring diagrams that SD doesn't supply and ones i'm too lazy to draw up myself.

And yeah, it's really slow and can be pretty serious. But if you look hard enough there is plenty of humor
