Than someone forever reminding you of his Ph.D.! I'm sorry that I have been falling into that trap for the last few threads I have started. Frankly, there are a lot of really smart people on TB. Many of whom probably have credentials more impressive than mine but who don't bring them up so much. On top of that, there are a lot of smart people here who have just learned a lot living life.

I always thought is was Doctor the same as Doctor Dre or Doctor Pepper.
whatever, I'm in college so i am kinda used to professors demanding an %^& kissing because of their title.

IME, it seemed like many were humble people.

There are occasionally threads about college, education or other topics in which degrees are relevant - that's when I tend to cite mine...as relevant.
Most of the faculty I associate with who are good guys and gals don't push their degrees; they're regular folks who happen to know a lot about their field of expertise.

I've never seen you as one of those pompous profs who constantly remind you they are superior. Heck, the lead singer in one of my bands is a Prof/PhD, and he's about as fun and as non pompous as they get! |

If you did use it, it must've been pretty tactfully, IMO. I don't run around much about my education, but it's pretty easy to do since not a lot of threads get started on it here (Engineering Physics / Aerospace Engineering). |

I don't have a PhD either.
Lots of my students do, though. I've often been confused about how that's supposed to work.

"Can I run as fast as them?" - Nope
"Can I teach them something they're not already aware of that would improve their performance?" - Yep
I don't have a PhD either, and I don't flaunt my degree. That's probably because I graduated with a degree in computing technology a little over 30 years ago and, although it got my toe into the door of a corporate career, I haven't used any of the knowledge in my degree subject since moving into management roles 20 years ago.
Anybody want any help on 30 year old computing technologies that I've mostly forgotten? Anybody? Awwww c'mon....

Only seen you using it in relevant situations (ie it makes sense where we were discussing situations in academia).
