So I've grown out my first fairly legit beard over the past month and a half, and it has begun to get pretty... well... nasty looking lol. I was wondering if there are any good tips or tricks out there to help tidy it up a little bit. I haven't touched it at all yet, and I still plan on growing it out more, so no worries |

Check in a mirror to make sure the shape is even across the whole face, and using small scissors, trim those hairs till it is straight. If your going for a certain length, a good thing to remember is that it will need to be a bit shorter as you get to your sideburns and hair so that it looks even. Does your beard grow straight or is it curly? Or a mix? On my cheeks mine comes in curly, but on the neck and chin line its straight. The curls you just have to keep the right amount of fluffyness to them so as not to make it look thin and teenaged. The straight ones just need to be trimmed to length to look their best. If you shave any off the bottom of the beard make sure to keep that line nice and even across your face; symmetry is the key.
Hope that helps. |

Or go to a barber. |

| | Yeah, I've got the moves like Jagger. | | Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: G.R. MI | | | I would always run the trimmer in the up direction on my cheeks and down around my chin. It keeps the sides shorter and the chin area a bit longer that way. I don't remember what the length of the guard was though. I have it someplace, but haven't had a beard in years.

Chainsaws are also acceptable under certain circumstances.
