There's still hope for music.
If you watched some of the AMA's this year, you could come away thinking that music is in the toilet.
It's not - and the Jools Holland show proves it.
Well, music is at least not in the toilet in other parts of the world besides the U.S.
I saw the show for the first time at a friend's house last night. It was a steady, uninterrupted stream of incredible talent - both new and old. One great song after another, one great band after another.
Music is alive and well - at least in the UK or wherever that show comes from.
I gotta get Rave HD so that I can watch it weekly.
Fantastic stuff.

| | | | I don't like the new format much and I don't like the way the BBC uses it to push certain artists (particularly those who they put on their "Big in 200x?" lists) but it's nice to see a range of stuff on there. Recent performances that stick in the mind are the Desert Sessions, KT Tunstall, Gogol Bordello |

We don't have any knowledge or history on Jools. As we watched last night, we had big smiles on our faces. We were saying - hey - the host can *Play*!
Have you seen him take something *away* from the other acts?
His playing with David Sanborn last night was - great, for us.

I don't mind it when he does his "interviews at the piano" actually...some of them can be really good though when he's just drunk and trying to play along with the band it can be pretty bad. |

Fantastic stuff. | I really think a major factor in American music is the terrible formats pushed out by radio stations and Empty-V.
DJ shadow summed it up well...
Its the money! |
