Wow. I'm writing a research paper on the exact same subject at this very moment.

Weird.

Nerf guns? Are you kidding me? That thing is awesome, I would have loved to have that when I was little.

What about the fact that ****** kids grow up to be ****** parents and nobody is doing anything about that?

While we're at it, should we get rid of water guns?
Water is the only other thing that can cut diamond, besides diamond.
We don't want our kids playing with something with that much strength, do we?!
As a matter of fact, lets just ban water all together!!
People pollute, and crappy water is forcing us to buy Brita Filters. And what if some kid gets mad with a Brita filter in his, or her, hand? Then BAM!!! The other person is old out!
And then, the kid will be charged for murder, put into special care, get out, get a girlfriend, and she'll die. So He'll read his diary and learn that he can go back in time and change things, but if he changes anything, then something else in the future changes.
Then eventually, that little bugger will go and start his own TV show, where he pranks celebrities and puts it on TV.

We definitely don't want more Ashton Kutchers out there. So, we might as well ban water.

Lol the old DHMO.

Anything out there with a "do not aim at" should not be considered a toy. I know of waterguns that have "do not aim at people or small animals" stickers on them. That's bad.

EDIT: I'm talking about toys, aka small kids'. I like my paintball but i think it should be restricted to the above 18s.

I dread the day that someone is killed by a turtle shell in a road rage incident...Mariokart is just a big, wide-open target sitting out there.

as a fellow paintballer I do not agree with that. Its a sport like any other. Hell, football is more dangerous and kids as young as 8 play that. round here only kids over 13 can play paintball, and they need parental consent.

Kinda funny you brought up paintball, I am reffing a game in a couple of hours at a woodsball field.

There's plenty of serious study showing that the best thing to do if a kid points a toy gun at you is EXACTLY what you would have done as a kid - either dive for cover, or pretend to be shot, and take a hero's death.

You're SUPPOSED to play along. The kid knows it's a game. He also knows that real guns are different to toy guns. If you start freaking out, and start acting like a toy gun is a real gun, then he might start thinking there isn't so much of a difference after all...

Exactly.

The children who can't tell the difference between virtual and reality are likely predisposed toward doing something bad, anyway.

Back when I was a kid I had loads of toy guns, better than the cheap affairs sold today. They were made of metal, weighty, and with no orange plastic on the muzzle. You could drill the barrels out and hold up a bank with some of them.

But I'm not a gun toting psycho (and I play loads of video games!).
