We took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese's last nite as a belated b-day present for my nephew, Seth. Not 10 minutes in, Jake (my Son) slid out a tubeslide, ran around the back, tripped (I assume) and whacked his foot enough that he drops and starts wailing...eventually he calms a bit but can't put any weight on his foot.

Cut to this morning, he's still complaining about it, so Vicki (the Missus) took a half day and brought him to the Doctors. He broke his foot. 5th bone on the outside by the piggy toe. And of course the break is on a growth plate so his Pedi is consulting an orthopedic surgeon about a proper way to cast it.

Geebus H Christmas...backpedal a bit to sketch out how my week has gone so far with the kiddos: First my Nephew, Evan fractures his clavicle a week ago flying off an office chair while goofing off. So he's in a sling for a couple weeks.

Then Kori (my Daughter) breaks her piggy toe stubbing it into our coffee table, and then 3 days later drives a nail through her heel chasing my niece's cat that got outside...went right through her sneaker and up into the heel 1.5+ inches (spent 4 hours in the ER Sunday nite for that one), and now this.

They say it comes in threes. I thought we were done with the heel thing, but apparently we got "one to grow on".

My little guy in a cast. My daughter on crutches. My nephew in a sling.

AND, I am now down a teeball player for who knows how long....my season is ruined (I'm kidding.).

Dang, it just sucks when it's the kiddos.

When I was five I broke the one that had roast beef. I believe Mon is saying his son broke the one that went wee, wee, wee all the way home. Technically speaking.

My little monsters are 2 boys, 17 months apart, currently 6 1/2 and nearly 8 years old. I know where you're coming from.......for awhile it seemed like they were getting hurt so often, we were actually alternating E-Room visits between the 2 hospitals in town, just so they didn't see us so often!

Give him a kiss and perhaps it's time to teach how to man up. Maybe his first beer?
