They sing "Hot Dog" the theme song for Mickey's Playhouse too.

I'm also seeing Victor Wooten the night afterward at the same venue.

And I'm seeing Medeski, Martin, and Wood there in the middle of Feb.

I'm really stoked.

Have seen MMW many times. Always a great show.

Hopefully, I have a friend who raves about them, so I expect good things.

Just found out Clutch is playing there too...
It's going to be a sick second semester.

Love TMBG. What other band would quote Howl in a song? Ok, maybe Bush would (Machinehead), but they suck.

I've seen them a few times, always a fun show. The quality of their opening acts seems to very greatly. I saw a band called Frente open for them who were pretty good, though not really my kind of stuff. But I also the worst band I've ever seen opened for them once - Death Groove Love Party. Terrible.

Have fun.

So if Wooten and the Johns combined their show...

Seriously though, that sounds awesome. I haven't gotten to see them live but I've heard/seen a few concerts they recorded, and it sounds and looks like a great time.

I've seen all those bands live and they're all great. When I saw TMBG Frank Black opened for them as a solo act and he was way cool. Of course he was...he's Frank Black.

Only us fathers of young children would know that, Maki.

If you don't have it already, check out their "Here Come The ABCs" CD and DVD. Even my wife and I would sing along.

I don't have a link, but Mojo Nixon had the following line in a song:
"I've seen the best hair of my generation destroyed by styling mousse".

Ah, Mojo Nixon. There's a name I haven't heard in a long time. Mojo Nixon always reminds me of Dead Milkmen (and vice versa) since they name drop him in "Punk Rock Girl".

Back to TMBG. Two things I always loved about them were the Dial-A-Song (which I think still works) and the fact that live they would take requests. Not for their own songs, but for ANY song. I've seen them do Aqualung and Copa Cabana among others. Good stuff.

Gotta admit it's catchy though. Sigh. I'm not a proud man.
