I suppose some very good guitars, but mine are pretty average, so I can only imagine that something like Klein or Parker, or a vintage P-bass would be worth it as well!

The bits of a computer you actually use, such as monitors, keyboards etc. These are so often overlooked.

Ear plugs

Watches

Smart clothes. Nobody has to look smart all the time, and as I work outdoors I usually dress like a cross between a farmer and a builder but I'm sure we all know a few people who are just incapable of being smartly turned out when it IS appropriate.

Expensive things that are worth the money

A bed and nice sheets. I've slept on some crap mattresses in my time including an air mattress in college, when it deflated it was a piece of plastic on a pile of clothes. I absolutely appreciate my pillow top and high thread count sheets. A good night sleep is priceless.

Good musical gear. High quality gear inspires you; not necessarily a $3000 bass and huge stack but something quality. For me bass is a form of therapy and an outlet.

Knives. It doesn't have to be a $500 custom job but a good quality knife will serve you well. This applies to kitchen knives or whatever you may use them for.

Food. Life is to short for crappy food. Not necessarily a rib eye every night but a good diet will help you feel great

Gym Membership. Mine is expensive, planet fitness would be way cheaper but again, this is an outlet for me. Take care of your body and you'll feel better, have more energy and help prevent injury.

Clothes. I live in Alaska, good quality winter clothes mean the world! Good quality clothes last longer, look good and protect you from the elements. I bought a few Ibex pullovers and pants... expensive but hold up well and are wonderful!

Also, to the guys. Buy a good suit and have it tailored, maybe a second. Its invaluable and you can mix and match with casual clothes to dress up your wardrobe. Every guy should own a nice suit... Suit Up!

Good Booze: Life's too short for crappy booze.

Define "good".

I, for example, enjoy Maker's Mark...but some people I know think it is horse piss, and obviously inferior to their preferred brand.

Earplugs, so many of my musician friends use those foam disposable plugs because they are cheap, but they make everything sound muffled. I don't know how people can deal with it.

Headphones, I bought some nice Etymotic in ears and it changed the way I listen to music.

Taylor guitars, I still can't justify the price compared to how much I play guitar, but there is definitely something magical about a USA Taylor with elixirs on it.

Agreed. Despite owning a few high-end customs, the Yamaha stuff always impresses the crap outta me.

Apple computer products.
(Like the iPhone poster I dropped my 2 yr old Magic Track Pad on the hardwood floor last week, cracking the top of the pad...didn't realize it has a clear cover. Took it to the Apple Store to see if if could be repaired. They gave me a new one.)

Neumann Microphones

Lucchese Boots

High Quality Dress Shirts

Levi's Jeans

Bluebell Ice Cream

My ex makes several thousands a month, I make basically nothing (depending on gigs). Yet I have to pay her, even though we have equal care of our kid.

Cheese. Sharp cheddars and Stiltons. I can hardly ever afford them, but am always fulfilled when I can.

Preventive health care.

MUCH less expensive than corrective health care.
