A woman flying out of Boston had her cupcake confiscated by the TSA before she boarded her flight. They think the frosting might have been an explosive chemical. Maybe after you eat it, but not before!

Unbelievable! I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

No cupcakes? I guess the terrorists won.

Hi.

They do have to draw the line somewhere, now don't they?

Too bad the ban AFAIK doesn't cover all the modern explosives, so the creative ones still may succeed with their agenda.

Didn't click the link, I rarely do, but must be a slooooow news day down there.

Regards
Sam

This country, (USA), has no resemblance to it's former self. Post 9/11, we are now living in a thinly veiled police state, with our Constitutional rights pushed aside for the sake of (false) security. Ben Franklin said, "a country that trades liberties for security deserve neither".

ironically, "cupcake" is the name for breaking wind into your hand and clamping it over a friend's face* - a playful form of chemical warfare.

*uh, apparently.

This is a highly political post.

I happen to agree with it, especially in light of the demise of habeas corpus and the associated indefinite detention of US citizens as specified in the soon to be signed NDAA.

I deal with the TSA a couple of times a week. I don't think they're in place just to check for weapons. Something else is in play.

I just read an article about senator Rand Paul being detained at an airport by the TSA because the detection thing went off. He asked to go through it again because he didn't have anything on him but they said that was not possible. If I remember correctly, they then detained him and he had to catch another flight.

I wonder if this has anything to do with him being Ron Paul's son. Ron Paul is very vocal about his dissatisfaction with the TSA and how it's contributing to the erosion if our liberties.

I know times are a changin', but c'mon. A cupcake? Really?

If the terrorist were going to attack again I suspect they would be smart enough to attack using something other than an airplane this time.

Are you kidding, a cupcake dropped from 40,000 feet could be devastating!

You, sir, have just made my year. I will be using this method of revenge on our rhythm guitarist as payback for his nausea-inducing flatulence at practice.
