Things that took your whole life to finally learn

Besides women being crazy...

Mine is. No matter what there's no such thing as THIN AMD WARM clothing. I tried it all, I'm talking when it's 30-50 or below ain't no such thing. (From Louisiana that's VERY cold)

My North Face jacket does pretty well in those regards, but YMMV.

If the woman you're talking to has an Adam's apple, she's really a man. Best to decline 'her' offer to go back to her place for coffee :hiding:

my father always said...it is better to pay to much for something rather than too little.

what he meant was... if you are faced with a purchase, the cheapest item may not actually be the cheapest.

if you buy the cheapest, you may find you have wasted all your money and have to go back and buy the more expensive item that will actually do the job.

if you pay too much, you are only out the difference between what you paid and what you might have paid...if you pay too little, you may have wasted the whole purchase and have to go back and re-buy.

tools are a good example of this.

Great way of thinking about it!

I'm not on my death bed, I'll tell you then. :ninja:

Don't under estimate the importance of self-confidence.

My father never learned that. Used to drive me crazy.

I have been wearing white socks for years, because that is what most stores sell. (Excluding dress socks, which are typically black.) It only recently dawned on me that white is the most ridiculous color choice for socks, because it looks strange with black shoes when you wear shorts, and black socks hide dirt much better than white socks. Took me my whole life to realize that I have been mindlessly following trends dictated by the sock industry, without thinking for myself. Now I only buy black socks.

Exact same concept but with underwear...

Think....

Be honest, and you'll never have to be afraid.

Things ive recently learned that i should've a long time ago:
Life is too short to worry about the little things.
There is a difference between not seeing a problem and not acknowledging it.
People wont listen to advice and the best thing you can do is be supportive of those you love, because they need to learn for themselves.
Every time you make an excuse you're closing a door of opportunity and furthering yourself from your goals.
Nothing can change for the better if you cant accept or make the change, because doing the same thing every day and expecting a different outcome sets you up for failure from the start.
And lastly, if you're feeling lost remember that you control your own hand and your own decisions and tou have the power, if you try hard enough, to change your circumstances.

You reap what you sow in personal relationships. If you don't care of people along the way, then nobody's going to care when you fall. When you take care of people along the way, that good karma will pay you back in ten fold.

...not that you should help people simply with expectations of repayment, but it's a good philosophy to have.

Sav'nBass 12-11-2012 05:20 AM

Some of this stuff I learned a while ago.. but all of it came after 30.

The only thing I have control over is me.
You can't let people piss on you and call it rain.
You can't make someone love you if they don't.
You can't change people .. especially women.
Sometimes you have to be a little selfish to survive otherwise people will suck you dry and walk away.
You get what you pay for.
It's better to have it and not need it thasn to need it and not have it.

Dale Carnigie said something like " Instead of trying to make people interested in you ,try showing a sincere interest in other people"

I've never been conciteied or a showboat, but I find this to be a very true statement...

Took almost my whole life to learn:

Do not trust any one.

Don't wait to have fun or travel ... You'll wake up an old man and have never done either .

I watched my grandfather do this . He regretted it and told me to "spend some money ,have fun and die young"

+1

I was raised to be honest and believed everybody else was too...

I have been screwed a few times ...

In your own perspective of the world, everyone else is insane.

Don't always expect a deeper meaning.

Cost and quality aren't always directly correlated.

Do what makes you come alive.
Everything gets better when you value your own heart (the real you).
