We also had a Super 8 filming camera, but unfortunately I don't remember the brand name. |

4-digit phone numbers like I had growing up in a tiny hick town in the 1950's
Chamber pots like my grandparents had in the country store outside Oblong, Illinois in the 1950's
You'll note that there was a HUGE leap forwards between the 1950's and the 1960's when the transistor hit the markets along with other surges in technology

NOBODY knows of Oblong (as the tiny town sign says--"The Only Oblong")! I grew up my first ten years in Palestine. 1950-1960. I was actually born in the old sanitarium in Robinson!
I used to go to the drive-in between Palestine and Robinson back then. But I doubt if you ever were at my Grandpa's country store. He closed it out around 1960 and took a house in Oblong. He sold DeKalb seed corn, dog food by the ton, raised beagles and coon dogs and took wild game in trade sometimes for the meager groceries he offered for sale. He and Grammy are both buried in the Pioneer Cemetery in Palestine.
