Jerry Garcia lost most of his rt middle finger when he was a kid, due to a wood-chopping accident.

Rick Allen, the drummer of Def Leppard... But that's going a little further than a finger missing.

Growing up we were always a very Paternal family, my grandfather on my dads side was a semi-famous doctor. I was raised as my fathers son even tho my dad passed when I was 9 yrs old.
Its only recently, I have realised I am the splitting image of my Mom's dad. I am an avid collector of antique chairs. After my mom passed away, her sister gave me a chair that my grandad made by hand. She also told me that my Grandad also chopped of his index finger!! How weird is that!
But, when he chopped it off, there was only an old country doctor available. They lived way way out in the middle of nowhere.
Apparently, he was so drunk, over 80yrs old, that my Grandpa had to sew on his own finger!!
The doctor gave him a bottle of whiskey and instructions and he did it himself.
I'm a really tough SOB and now I know where I get it from!!

@capnjim - Sounds like a great man. Those were the days though. If anything like that happened today, the "chopper" would probably sit home bleeding, waiting for the ambulance.

My Dad's story... He and his friends would often play on a water mill when they were children. You know, the water falls over and it turns a large wheel via "buckets" of water. One day while going over, his hand got caught in the wheel mechanism. Could have been much worse... at least it was only a pinky finger.

Not really...thats why they removed my chewed up remainder. If it was sewed on and not functioning it only gets in the way.
BTW...sorry to hijack the thread. This is an awesome thread an really brings back great memories.

Before that, I used to watch these...

They were drawn by the same team. They even used the same background images in a few episodes.

I remember visiting my sister and her husband when i was a teenager. They had this game console which i immediately became obsessed with. All i remember was some kind of outer space game and that horrid game controller wheel thingy.

I thought it was pretty awesome at the time.
