Im lucky enough to realize the health consequences while I'm still young, but sadly many of my family members have not. After I started to workout 4-5 times a week I didnt notice they were much more receptive to the idea though, and are starting to make changes.

At least you realized your mistakes, a lot of people never quite grasp it.

Please elaborate.

On my health problems? High blood pressure, bad knees from carrying too much weight, and obesity would be a few.

Not as horrible as your theory ("joke attempt") of manliness through beardness.

It's definitely related to cost as well. You kids won't remember when 7-11 sold a 44 ounce fountain drink for .50 or the .39 and .59 menu at Taco Bell. A few fast food restaurants have dollar menus now, but those prices were normal 15-25 years ago when I was making poor choices.

I was single, busy having fun all the time, making good money, and healthy back then. Why worry about eating all that cheap food? I actually maintained a very active life working in construction, playing on sports teams, doing stuff outside, you know the things people did before the internet and Nintendo. Still, I made poor eating choices and now it has come full circle. My fault, no one elses.

Cheap foods tend to be calorie dense due to high lipid content. You eat the same amount of calories, but your body feels less full.

I understand that however tracking calories solves that. I really don't want to bring up all the fast food bodybuilding experiments. Only beef I have is generalizations that cheap food makes you fat, or gives you cancer, or fat makes you fat, or this or that, no it's the quantity. One of the healthiest things for a human is to fast. It's one of the few ways to increase lifespan.

Well of course, but most people dont have the knowledge or will power to track their eating habits. More often then not, fat people are making bad eating choices which is making them fat. I used to date a girl which this wasnt the case, she had a thyroid issue which led to a high retention of lipids, but most people it comes down to lifestyle choices. I know from experience that you can eat ff and still put on lean muscle, but one things for sure, I physically felt like dump.

iPhone phone bills. I have friends in total debt who still refuse to go with Tracfone, MetroPCS, or Straight Talk. To me, it makes no sense.
