I am thinking about getting a Pontiac GTO, but my question is not about the car. What band/songs come to your mind when you think of muscle cars? Any suggestions?

"409"
"GTO" (or maybe it was "my little GTO"
"Little Deuce Coupe" (not really a muscle car song)
"Dead Man's Curve"
"Little Old Lady from Pasadena"
Just a start, from memory
Also Jonathan Richmond's "Road Runner"
and that Golden Earring's "Radar Love"

Cool topic. What song comes to my mind is "Paradise by the dash board light". I owned a Pontiac Trans Am...right around the time of Smokey and the bandit and when "Bat out of hell" was released. It was a Pontiac. GTO's are Pontiac.
And by the way, the song paradise by the dashboard light was actually about me, as I did get to paradise more than a few times in that car...WHILE listening to the song.
God I was a sleaze..... |

-Mike | 1970 GTO. When Pontiac still made real cars. My friend just got it to run after working on it for a while, so he's selling it and starting to work on reviving his 69 Corvette. He's also got a 69 (I think) Mustang that he drives.

I was thinking about songs that you can blast on a highway, here are some of the songs on my current playlist. Most of them are contemporary rock bands. "Blackjack" - Airbourne "Cochise" - Audioslave "Word Up" - Gun "La Grange" - ZZ Top
And most Motorhead, Guns n Roses, some Rage Against The Machines, and other random rock bands.
