I know there are a lot of people who want to get fitter but struggle to find the time, don't have equipment or don't want to fork out for a gym membership.

Of course cardio work is pretty easy to come by (running is about the cheapest thing you could do, at least when you start), and these are by no means a be all and end all (different approaches for strength, power or circuit training programs such as provided by crossfit and P90X etc.

But, this gives you a plan to follow and some final goals.

I've taken these on as part of my ongoing attempt to improve my stamina. Just thought some other folks might be interested.

Very cool, I've been looking into adding some strength training to add into my running routine (currently in Week 7 of Couch to 5K). I'll have to give these a try, maybe integrate one program at a time until I can set up a good cardio day/strength day routine.

This is great. Especially being on the road where working out options are severely limited.

I have somehow managed to pack on almost 50 pounds in the last two years and am finally starting to take steps to remove the weight. I looked at these sites and am intrigued. Is it OK to do these programs concurrently, or are they intended to be done one at a time?

I'm doing them all at the same time.

Each excersise will hit your abs, so you may need to take it a bit easier on the situps (as you need to keep your core tight for squats and push ups too).

Good call. You would be shocked at the level of fitness you could be in for just like 15 minutes a day for free...

I hear you on that.

My doctor more or less ordered me to do 40 minutes of exercise 4 times a week to help get my diabetes under control. You'd think that would be motivation and cause some willpower to to kick in and exercise, but it still takes much much discipline to take those 2-3 mile walks 4 times a week.

You can do partial pushups using your knees as a pivot to the ground as opposed to your feet.

Not too sure if there is anything you can do that is just with bodyweight to work up to a full pullup. I know with dips people can start off at the top and try and lower themselves as slowly and controlled as possible, maybe the same could work with pull ups.

Or, even tho it in a way defies the simple/anyone can do it point of the links a pull-down machine at a gym would be a way to go.

No, but to be fair, I'm around 260 pounds.

I started at somewhere around 13 and I'm at like 45 right now.

I was really surprised at how hard push-ups were, especially considering that I was lifting pretty serious for a couple moths leading up to starting this. I really lost some athleticism since my injuries and year and a half out of sports.

I'm with you on that last one - although with a full-time job that means you have to sit in front of a computer all day, household demands, chores, bills etc. and then trying to do enough practice to keep my Jazz chops up on Double Bass - as well as gigs, rehearsals etc. then time is not easy either...

It's OK if you have no responsibilities or job ...

I'm regularly putting in 60-70 hours a week right now infront of a computer (so what if TB acts as a distraction) or in the lab, you can just get up a bit earlier and go to the gym! Living on my own in a flat it doesn't tend to get too out of hand at least with chores or whatnot.

Tho, I guess I do spend more time on fitness than I do on bass

Each of the activities in the websites listed should take around 10 minutes, depending on the number of reps you are doing. It should be under 10 minutes until you get to the much higher numbers. So even if you were to take on all three, you'd be talking roughly half an hour, three times a week

Similar problem here, when it comes to upper body strength for these body weight excersises, I'm gubbed!

Sit ups are bad for your back, so doing a whole workout plan revolving around them probably isn't a good idea.
