Thoughts/Prayers/Mojo needed

One of my best friends from college was just hit by an IED in Afghanistan. His name is Lt. Jon Arthur (USA) and he got hit by an IED and is en route to Germany. Apparently he's not in good shape. Just found out his platoon was attacked by a suicide bomber. His right lung is collapsed and he took some shrapnel to the legs. He is being evacuated back to the states later in the week. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Will do man, I have a cousin in Afghanistan. I can't imagine what you're going through. Thoughts and prayers abound.

Field medical care is amazing these days. When I was in Ramadi guys from my unit survived terrible injuries thanks to the speed and efficiency of the docs. My prayers go out to your friend, but take comfort in the fact that a lot of really talented people are working as hard as humanly possible to save him. Once a casualty makes Germany the survival rate is really high. Please let us know how he's doing.

Ditto what Balog said, modern combat medicine is really some great stuff. I have high hopes for your friend's survival and recovery.

Coming from a soldier currently serving in Iraq, every time I hear of a fellow service member getting hurt out here it makes my heart sink. I really do wish him and his family the best.

Peace,
Greg
