I absolutely hate people who get all depressed during the holidays. Especially over "feelings", I'm the boss of my heart not the other way around. But for months now I just can't seem to shake it, I can't move on from my past and my last resorts to try were long ago. So now it's Christmas eve, I'm in a city where I don't know anyone (Montreal), I lost the girl that literally was/is perfect for me months ago, I'm a loser and a failure. I'll never turn it around at this point. When your family, all your best friends, your band, and everyone you even vaguely know tells you that you'll never find a girl even half as good as her ever again in your life. It's true, how am I supposed to just swallow my lumps and keep going? I need motivation, I need drive. I'm lacking that and just take it one day at a time right now. I've tried everything I can think of to try and get through this, what is someone supposed to do if they absolutely can't be okay again?

I've had so many thoughts and amazing lyrics to write, but when it comes to my feelings I can never express them with words well enough. I'll try it though, maybe it'll help.

Is it? I'd tell them all to **** off and go about my business. Hell, go buy the cocks Christmas cards with the words "Merry Christmas" crossed out and "**** off" written in their place. I'd include a photo of my middle finger, but that's because I'm in a giving mood. No one is paying you to take that kinda crap, so don't take it.

If you knew the situation, you would be in their shoes. Everyone that has ever met both of us has said that they have no idea how she would ever date me, that she's too good for me, and I'm not good enough. Not a single person has ever said otherwise, except for her herself. We were both really happy together for almost 3 years. I want to marry her and spend the rest of my life with her. I would do anything in the world to have her back. I may be young, but I know when something is irreplacable.

I hate to tell you this but with that attitude going in your relationship was doomed to fail. You need to have a much better self image of yourself bro. You deserve the nice things and people in your life, even if you don't see the good qualities about yourself, they do. As for your family and friends, what a bunch of Aholes!!!!! That is a horrible way to talk and act towards a friend/family member. They should be ashamed.

Personally I think if people are telling you that crap they aren't really your friends and therefore not worth listening to.

6 billion people inhabit this planet, half of them women. There will be another whether you think so or not.

Here it is in a nutshell - start putting yourself before everyone else, just for a little bit. Instead of thinking what could I have done to make the old relationship work, think what can I do to put myself in a situation to meet someone new? The more girls you meet, the better your odds are at finding that someone. And you never find anyone if you're looking, but you won't get over it just sitting at home alone. Cool?

The only thing I'm curious about is what features did she have that were so great, and why did she break up with you? What did you/she do? I believe that knowing these things will make everything a lot easier for everybody to provide advice.

What makes you think that you should fall short of "her greatness"? You put yourself down.

I think that its not that you aren't "Worthy" of a girl like here, its just that you don't think youll ever meet a girl that makes you feel like she did ever again. Which is wrong.

It is Christmas eve. Just enjoy being with your best friends, band and everyone you even vaguely know. Women are crazy. You almost never find the right one if you're looking for her, so just let it happen. Enjoy the people around you, and the girl you're meant to be with will one day find you.

SHUT THE HELL UP! [smacks Todd Stanley up the side of the head]

pfft. You should be hitting everything you see. At your age it is about quantity. There's no reason to get tied down before you're thirty. She did you a favor. Go explore some asian beauties. Amazing women. Enjoy. Wear a jimmy.

I like you!

Women kinda are like dogs in a way...once one dies or runs away or whatever, the quickest way to get over it is to go get yourself a brand new puppy. And don't just settle on the first one either...you gotta take 'em for a couple of walks around the block and see which one grows on ya, ya know?

Yep. Except I'd substitute kitty cat into your little pearl of wisdom.

********. Don't lump me in with the [expletive deleted] that you know and should be giving the finger to right now.

Then you're surrounding yourself with [expletive deleted] who have no respect for you. Time to start filling out those cards. I'm serious.
