I said I was going to school, packed up all my things, and drove across the country with my girlfriend and the dog.

They were pissed about the dog for awhile.

I think a lot depends on what kind of relationship you want with them now, and what kind of relationship you used to have. If you want them back in your life, a big hug and a genuine "I love you" can be a very powerful message.

Are you sure they aren't just coming back for the dog?

Was that your dog or the family dog?

Anyway, by the time you read this things will have worked themselves out - for the better I hope.

Invite them to a future Dino/Civil War field trip.

because nothing says family bonding experience quite like General Lee riding into the fray on the back of a stegosaurus...

They're parents... they have to accept you.

I don't think that's necessarily true.

Good luck.

And don't stare at them like that. It's creepy.

Well it all went well enough I suppose. They saw my place, remarked that it was a **** hole neighborhood and we went out to eat. They said I can keep the dog which is good.

Glad it went well GE. Did it feel good to be in contact again? Do you think that'll open the channels?

Did the dog growl and bark when they first showed up?
