Thunder Cats ***?

Sign in to disble this ad
On Friday cartoon network will be airing a New series Thunder cats. So the they started to air the original series in preparation. I being fourteen dont watch CN much these days mostly with my four year old sister in a brainwashing attempt to nerdism. Occasionally to catch star wars which is a shame to the series and has been going down hill. So the old stuff come on and my little sister can't get enough of it. I was immediately turned off by the names, liono, tigra wilykit etc... Cheetara ; ) But seriously she loves this over the HD batman brave and the bold, pokemon etc. So *** is the original appeal of this. Was it really all that back when it was new...? Does it get better. Was all animation this bad in the 80s??????

actually thunder cats was always campy to me. i preferred transformers and GI Joe. as far as animation goes i prefer the stuff from the 80's to the over done CG of today. there is just something to be said about all the time drawing and editing.

So that means that there's been a conspiracy for years to over hype it so they can bring it back to make millions

Any tv animation from that era is going to seem a little dated compared to newer stuff. Check out old GI Joe or Transformers. Most of it looks like it's done at 8 frames a second.

That being said, I thought Thundercats was cool when I was a kid. As the series went on they introduced a lot more supporting characters and expanded the universe beyond the one planet. The new one looks to be pretty cool, and they have a ton of source material to work with.

Thundercats is great, as is He-man and Dungeons and Dragons...

I mean, how can you not like Mumra's transformation?

Or his super transform?

Or D&D intro?

The frame rate is the biggest turn so choppy especially the action scenes compared to the new stuff. I have seen alot of the old GI Joe and every episode of transformer Ever made not including the newer stuff. Didn't think they were to bad but yet again I wasn't watching them on 55 inches and having HD commercials coming on to make it look worst

Thundercats - not quite as good as He- Man, but ranks up there. It's been on and I've been missing it? Why didn't you post earlier?!!!

That D&D stuff looks like something I could get into. I only actually saw the first three episodes of Thundercats so maybe I should watch some more of it with fresh eyes

You don't have to deal with my dad who's sitting right next to us while watching with hard day at work crankiness which is understandable muttering things like " I work hard and save up to buy fancy tv and this how they squander me and my money" lol detracts from the overall experience

Dang kids now-a-days!!!!
Wasn't around for the original airings, but as a kid in the early to mid nineties and watching the re-runs, I loved the show, along with the old Hanna-Barbera action shows like the Herculoids, Johnny Quest and Thundarr the Barbarian, to other shows like Voltron and Silverhawks.

What happened Cartoon Network? You used to be cool...

Sorry about your dad. Guess my kids got lucky cartoon-wise. Or maybe I got lucky that my kids like what I choose to squander my money on :-)

Thundercats is only second to He-Man.

What is this He man you all speak. He look like hardly dressed Thor. I also mentioned it and my pops perked right up in recongnition and nostalgia. So what is he?
