I am not sure where to post this so I'm posting it here
If somebody from New York could help me out that would be great but I really doubt there is anything that can be done.
So we (my band and I) were driving out of NYC north to Massachusetts. So we ended up on this road/highway (sorry I dont remember the name I think prkway was in the name)
WELL there was a sign on the road that said "Passenger Vehicles ONLY" and I am in a passenger van with a trailer attached. I thought that it was mostly talking about 18 wheelers and other commercial vehicles. Well the State trooper that pulled me over informed me that I thought wrong. I hoped being from Texas the guy would see I was just confused on the sign and would let me off. The guy even threatened that he was going to make me take of the trailer and he was going to tow it (and I am really glad he didn't or else you all would have seen me on the 9 O'clock news, there was no way he was taking my trailer full of gear)
So here are a question for somebody from New York. What do you think this ticket will run me. I really want to fight it, really bad, but I am almost sure it is going to cost me more to fight it than to just pay the ticket. Also, what are the odds of getting winning the fight.
The part that really does not make sense to me is the road I was on was a four lane road, meaning people could pass me if they wanted, its a hilly area and I just can't keep up with the cars. (I mean I'm able to go at at a steady 55 and that was the speed limit, but who really just goes the speed limit?) The road they made me drive on was a two lane road meaning there was a long line of cars desperately wanting past me on this hills.
Ill try to check this thread when I can't always find free wifi
P.S.: New York, please just add "no personal trailers" or even "no trailers" to the sign. |
