They can't meet the data demands on their network. So instead of spending money to increasing their data capabilities and infrastructure, they're gonna start charging more for data plans to try to curb usage. I have a Nokia N-97, so I can go to any network. And existing contracts will not be affected... for now. But for those who are thinking about buying an iPhone or related product, what will you do? Details here.

We switched to Verizon so we could have all bills (phone, internet, wireless) on one bill. Only later did we find out about AT&T's data stuff. But I'd go to Verizon and get a Droid.

But I could just be one of the 65% who have been ripped off for the last year and a half, so...

Most months I use 300 to 400mb. So I'll probably go with the datapro plan since it's 5 bucks cheaper a month.
If you want tethering then you have to switch to a new plan. No tethering on a grandfathered unlimited plan.

I'm really trying to get my parents to go to Verizon. AT&T down here in Vegas drops a call at every few freeway intersection, on top of it or below it. Terribly set up.

Perhaps AT&T really is that bad elsewhere, but at least in the southeast they seem to do really well. |
