Time-Lapse Map of Every Nuclear Explosion Since 1945

This, ladies and gentlemen, is a sobering watch. Moved me more than I thought it would.

It's a bit long, but stick it out. The final tally is staggering. I had no idea.

Looks like the American southwest and Kazakhstan should be big puddles of molten slag.

I have a feeling if I watched this, I would sink into a deep depression for days.

Makes you wonder what kind of a mess in under some of those marine detonations too.

Pretty cool. Would have loved to have seen above ground detonations. Born too late, or was I?

Wow. It's certainly sobering to the reality of nuclear testing.

Peace,

Boy, the 1950's were rough. No wonder people were scared that we (as a race) were going to blow up the whole planet! Phillip K. Dick stories seem less outrageous given all the rapid proliferation going on at the time.

WOW - that is crazy! I wonder how many were really necessary for research and how many for political posturing.

It's a wonder we all don't look like Blinky, above, or worse!
