Mike | He he he he, nice. What about Schlitz Malt Liquor? I think they made 40's too.

Maybe Goodell, out of the kindness of his heart, will let the Niners forfeit their games and spend the rest of the season practicing.
Who would've thought that I'd be longing for the days of Mooch and Jeff Garcia? |

-Mike | Schlitz made 40's as well, you are correct, sir! They pioneered the "wide mouth" technology that allowed the user to take advantage of gravity with more aplomb. Blue Bull Ice was the most potent at 7.7% alcohol. Two of those would put a large animal down and give it the runs for a day.

Who would've thought that I'd be longing for the days of Mooch and Jeff Garcia? | Donno dude, i think we actually will have something. Thinking back to philly game and how we were down by 1 and the idiot challenged the field goal (that is NOT reviewable). I pretty much said that the game was lost right that second. Dumb moves like that take out all the wind out of players IMO. To think I've spent 300$ on that game...
East side, 25 yard line... 9ers played good until that challenge, then they just stopped. I think new coach will give some air to those players.
Oh and when gore is having a decent game first half and you give him ball TWICE the second half... Makes me wonder about coaching job as well.

So, what do I need to know? I'm a 49ers n00b - catch me up. |

| | I'm a tumbler, born under punches | | Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Northern California | | | Two reasons why I AM happy that Singletary got the job.
1) Giving it to Martz wouldn't change some of the things that infuriated me most about Nolan as Martz also has a tendency to waste time outs and generally show bad clock management.
2) I seriously doubt we'll see much more of the "Big Nickel" which was a) ineffective and b) keeps Lawson, one of the most versatile defenders, off the field.
If (and it's a big if) they can keep JTO (the TO is for turnover) from coughing up the ball every other possession then there is a real chance to start righting the ship the rest of the season and give them something to build on.
What bothers me about this move was that I didn't want Nolan back THIS season. But this seems like another bad ownership decision. If the Yorks think this will work like Haslett taking over in STL I think they're badly mistaken. Are we locked into Singletary for next year? Why not wait until the offseason and really see who's out there? Or at least wait until the bye week to give Singletary time to make some changes.
We'll see. |

We'll see. | Kinda want Shawn Hill to get QB job right now. He was a decent quarterback last year IMO.
As far as change, i think now is good, I think Seattle game will give Singletary a chance to feel his team out as Head coach then bye week will give him time to adjust with his new team.
What really sucks though, Singletary might turn out to be decent coach, but because 9ers are pretty broken up this year anyway, in eyes of Yorks he might not look as a good head coach and the might not give him a chance to do the job he might be able to do.
Big +1 on Big Nicke though.

I still don't know anything about the 49ers, though, beyond the fact that I used to kick ass with them on Tecmo Bowl. |
